The Political Affairs Department oversees political developments in the United States relevant to the Palestinian cause and the political process. In addition, the department maintains contacts with the U.S. government, Congress, think tanks, the media and NGOs. These contacts are aimed at promoting and safeguarding Palestinian viewpoints and national rights, and advancing a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East.
